Still and Still Moving
Still and Still Moving, 2015
RSVP gallery, Mono No Aware, Brooklyn, NY
Much of my work is an attempt to make metaphor visible. Here, I am attempting to articulate a kind of precarious connection. The central projection was filmed from the gunwale of a canoe; the image captures the mixing of the waters where the Connecticut and West rivers meet in southern Vermont, where I live. The pair of projections illustrate a leap from a boulder in the Whetsone Brook, which flows right by my house. The color scheme in the videos ties the piece to a companion silkscreen, which visitors to the installation were invited to take home with them.
